Customer Collaboration
main process
SAP
Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC)
offers
comprehensive capabilities in the customer collaboration area,
allowing companies to share information and collaborate effectively
with their customers on finished goods level.
SAP SNC
customer collaboration handles
the end-to-end replenishment process ranging from receiving
inventory and consumption information from the customer, to
forecasting and the use of the forecast for short-term delivery
adjustments, to truck load building and order generation, as well
as communication to back-end systems on the supplier and customer
sides. The main capabilities are tied together in a step-by-step
business scenario called Responsive Replenishment, which also has
advanced features for dealing with promotions as a separate demand
stream, for validating incoming data files from customers, and
triggering proactive alerts when exception situations are detected.
In this context, another key
SAP
SNC
feature is being able to receive frequent customer
data updates (for example consumption) and being able to make
immediate use of that information in the actual planning and
replenishment process. As such
SAP
SNC
has the capability to automatically adjust planned
replenishments up or down depending on real demand updates.
SAP SNC
also has the capability to
manage more traditional Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI)
replenishment scenarios using, for example, minimum and maximum
stock balance limits as the replenishment driver, or managing
forecast and order forecast collaboration activities between a
supplier and customer, and integrating certain information to
back-end SAP ERP and planning systems for, for example,
forecast contribution or availability
checks.
Responsive Demand Planning
|
Responsive Demand Planning is a
customer collaboration business process offered as part of
SAP Supply
Network Collaboration (SAP SNC)
. Responsive Demand Planning allows
forecasting and collaboration on baseline and promotion demand with
your business partner. The process comprises the data exchange of
product activities and forecast data from your business partner.
During this process, all data received from your customer is
validated and mapped. For the forecasting step functionality for
statistical forecasting, as well as short-term projected sales,
forecasting is available. Promotion demand can be separately
planned within promotion planning taking patterns and
cannibalization effects into account.

All process steps are aligned to be
automated, in addition with alerting for exceptions as basis for
the planner’s manual decision input which is facilitated with the
note management functionality. Thus, a company can respond and
collaborate very quickly on changes in the distribution supply
chain. The two processes, Responsive Demand Planning and Responsive
Replenishment Planning, have to be combined together to make up the
Responsive Replenishment scenario.

Responsive Replenishment Planning
|
Responsive Replenishment Planning
is a customer collaboration business process offered as part
of
SAP
Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC)
. With Responsive Replenishment
Planning the replenishment can be planned to fulfill the days’
supply target at the ship-to location of the customer, and to build
truck loads to optimize the transport to the ship-to
location.
Baseline and promotion demand can be
planned separately taking into account safety stock levels and
lot-sizing methods, for example lot-for-lot or fill-up to target
stock level. Within truck load building
SAP SNC
has the capabilities to offer
several loading methods, such as straight loading or load
balancing.

In addition, planned
replenishment can be automatically adjusted by up- or downsizing
the quantity in order to achieve optimal truck loads. Integration
with SAP ERP offers an availability check before triggering the
logistic execution. By exchanging a replenishment order and an
advanced shipping notification the collaboration with the business
partner is leveraged, providing visibility over the replenishment
situation (on-order, in-transit) and over changes within the
distribution supply chain. The two processes Responsive Demand
Planning and Responsive Replenishment have to be combined together
to make up the Responsive Replenishment scenario.

Min-Max Replenishment
|
Min-Max Replenishment is a customer
collaboration business process offered as part of
SAP Supply Network
Collaboration (SAP SNC)
. The process comprises both the
data exchange of product activities and forecast data from your
business partner. During this process, all data received from your
customer is validated and mapped. For the forecasting step
functionality for statistical forecasting, short-term projected
sales forecasting is also available. Min-Max Replenishment can plan
the replenishment based on minimum and maximum stock levels of a
particular product, maintained at the ship-to location of the
customer.

All process steps are aligned to be
automated and alerting is used as a basis for notifying exceptions
that require the planner’s manual input, which is facilitated with
the note management functionality. By exchanging replenishment
orders and advanced shipping notifications the collaboration with
the business partner is leveraged, providing visibility over the
replenishment situation (on-order, in-transit) and over changes
within the distribution supply chain.

Demand Forecast Collaboration
|
Demand Forecast Collaboration is a
customer collaboration business process offered as part of
SAP Supply
Network Collaboration (SAP SNC)
. Demand Forecast Collaboration
allows comparison and consensus between consumption-based forecast
and customer transmitted forecast. Close collaboration with your
business partner can be promoted by visualizing absolute and
percentage differences as well as by applying rules to calculate a
consensus forecast. Baseline forecast and promotion forecast can be
handled separately.
The consensus forecast can then be
taken and used to drive the downstream demand and replenishment
processes. All process steps are aligned to be automated and use
alerting for exceptions as a basis for the planner’s manual
decision input, which is facilitated with note management
functionality. Thus, a company can respond and collaborate very
quickly to changes on the demand side of the supply
chain
